Know Why To Go
There are various reasons to visit our Psychiatric Mental Health Urgent Care clinic. Some include experiencing intense emotional distress, severe panic attacks, crippling anxiety, unmanaged medication side effects, acute depression without an active plan for self-harm, worsening psychosis, psychiatric medication management issues, or feeling like you need help now or initial substance use stabilization. If you are unsure whether an urgent care visit is right for you, please call, text, or visit the contact page on our website to inquire.
Book Ahead Call First
Please call ahead to see if appointments are available. The staff can also tell you when the clinic tends to get busy and what time to come for your visit to reduce wait time.
Take Your Insurance Card
Having your insurance card with you when visiting can help staff verify your coverage and calculate your costs. There are options for no insurance as well.
Copays for urgent care centers are similar or slightly higher than those for primary care settings, but much less than for ER visits.
Take Your Medications
The information on a prescription medication bottle or box is useful for the staff. Take your medications with you and note down the names of any doctors you are under the care of.
Be Prepared To Provide Information
Urgent care staff do not have access to medical records, so there may be forms to fill in. If you’ll find this difficult, you can ask someone to go with you to help you fill out the forms. An email will be sent with availability to fill out forms online ahead of time to decrease wait time at the clinic.
Have A Method Of Payment
People usually have to make payments such as copays at the time of the appointment, so it is important to bring a bank card or a digital payment method. Cash is always an accepted form of payment.
During The Appointment
A therapist will conduct an evaluation and provide immediate support and safety-focused interventions to the patient and their family. Medication evaluation will be completed as well.
Customized Care Plans
The clinician will help the patient and family navigate the next steps, determining the appropriate level of follow-up care. This may include intensive outpatient care, collaborative care, neuropsychological evaluation, or other support services.
Urgent care is covered by most insurance and The WellNest accepts private pay.
